Note that the dog is wearing a specialized harness which allows the operator to easily carry or lift the dog when deploying from vehicles, climbing stares or entering buildings. Some canine harness are also compatible with tactical vests so that the dog can be attached to the back of the vest in situations where the operator needs to use both hands such as fast roping or rappelling.

 

April 25, 2005 - IDF female instructor explains about an IWI Commander Tavor fitted with an ITL MARS during a recent IDF exhibition. Note that the CTAR is a late production model as can be seen by its black color, backup sights and a case deflector seen right behind the ejection port. Interestingly, note that the instructor is wearing a Shot Show 2005 ID lanyard, most likely given to her by one of the exhibitors which also participated in Shot Show 2005.

April 18, 2005 - New breed of IDF Special Forces unit - operator from the Givaty Infantry Brigade Reconnaissance Battalion during the IDF first field test of the Urban Tactical Unit, March 2005. The soldier is equipped with the IDF Future Soldier suit including an IWI Tavor fitted with a MPRS, new lightweight helmet fitted with a NVG adapter and a HMD. Note the control unit on the right, which is used to toggle between the various display modes of the Future Infantry Soldier system as seen via the operator HMD, such as NVD, MPRS feed and situational awareness map, as well as to control the system main functions. Also note that the Tavor is fitted with a modified handguards, which have three built-in remote switches, which activate the MPRS Viper main functions: laser pointer, laser range finder and data transmission (photo: IDF).
